A few years ago, Colombian doctors introduced the concept of Hammock Therapy. The author of the idea is a physiotherapist Carolina Polazon.
According to Brazilian neonatologists, staying newborns in hammocks has a lot of positive effects.
It is believed that in a hammock the body takes the correct physiological position, the so-called “embryo pose”: with a curved back, limbs pressed to the body. Experts have noticed that the use of a hammock has a positive effect on the development of premature babies. Firstly, this posture contributes to a deeper relaxation and heavy sleep. Secondly, babies placed in hammocks gain weight faster. Finally, the “suspended position” avoids bed sores caused by children extended admission.
All this leads to the fact that in the future, children who have passed through hammock therapy quickly catch up with their peers in physical and psychomotor development.
